RAM: 4 GB RAM minimum (~40 MB to 60 MB RAM footprint per active instance)
Hard Drive Space: ~300 MB free disk space for standalone application, plugins, and instrument packs
The flagship edition of Modartt's award-winning physical modeling engine. Delivering ultra-low disk and memory overhead (145.7 MB total package size), Pianoteq Pro v9.2.1 responds continuously to 127+ MIDI and high-resolution velocity steps, partial pedaling, sympathetic string resonance, and polyphonic aftertouch without velocity-layer crossfades or phase cancellation.
Next-Gen Soundboard Vibration Model: Re-engineered physical soundboard dispersion creates deeper, more organic, and three-dimensional stereo and spatial perception across all acoustic instruments.
New Baroque Triple Harp & Updated Plucked/Reed Models:
Triple Harp: Adds an authentic Baroque-era triple-row harp with a refined, resonant historical timbre.
MKII & Vintage Electric Reeds: Enhanced dynamic response and richer harmonic bark on fortissimo strikes.
Expanded Expressive Presets:
Sombre: Deep, dark, intimate tonal voicings tailored for cinematic underscore and modern neo-classical composition.
Felt: Authentic felt-strip dampening between hammers and strings across modern and vintage pianos.
Enhanced Binaural: Upgraded head-related transfer function (HRTF) modeling for natural, fatigue-free headphone monitoring.
8-Microphone Virtual Stage & Multichannel Mixer: Position up to 8 virtual condenser, dynamic, or ribbon microphones around the instrument with phase-accurate distance, delay, level, and multichannel output routing.
The Roaring Thunder Pedal: Simulates the historical acoustic "thunder" effect pedal for dramatic percussive low-end soundboard rumbles.
Pianoteq PRO Exclusive Capabilities:
Note-by-Note Physical Editing: Adjust up to 30 physical parameters (hammer hardness, strike point, string length, unison detuning, spectrum profile) independently for every single key on the 88-note keyboard.
192 kHz Internal Sample Rate: Supports internal physical modeling calculations up to 192 kHz for ultra-smooth upper-harmonic dispersion.
Instrument Morphing & Layering: Morph acoustic properties seamlessly between two or more completely different instruments (e.g., blending a Steinway D soundboard with a Vibraphone or Celtic Harp attack).
Included Components (145.7 MB):
Pianoteq 9.2.1.app (Standalone macOS Application)
Pianoteq 9.component (Audio Unit Plugin)
Pianoteq 9.vst3 (VST3 Plugin)
Pianoteq 9.aaxplugin(Note: AAX payload is present in the installer package, but Avid Pro Tools rejects unsigned AAX binaries during PACE Eden validation; AAX is currently unsupported)
Unified macOS Plugin Installer Package (.pkg)
Orpheus Validation Scope:
Verified on Apple Silicon macOS across fresh .dmg installation, Standalone audio/MIDI playback, AU and VST3 host instantiation, DAW project saved-state recall, system restart persistence, and extended polyphonic MIDI stress testing.
Step-by-Step Deployment:
Install Application & Plugins:
Mount the distributed .dmg disk image and run the included installer package to deploy the Standalone app (/Applications/Pianoteq.app) and AU/VST3 plugins (/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/).
Ensure Pianoteq and all DAWs are completely closed before proceeding to signature stripping.
Method A: Bypassing macOS Gatekeeper via Sentinel (GUI Method):
Open Sentinel on your Mac.
Open Finder and locate /Applications/Pianoteq.app.
In Sentinel, set "Sign app with:" to None.
Drag and drop /Applications/Pianoteq.app into Sentinel’s right-hand signing box.
Once processed, launch Pianoteq directly from your /Applications folder.
(Note: Only prepend sudo to the commands above if Terminal explicitly returns a file permissions error. If your DAW blocks the AU or VST3 plugin on scan, run the same xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine and codesign --force --deep --sign - commands targeting /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Pianoteq 9.component and /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Pianoteq 9.vst3).
