TengPleng – Kong Vong Thom Khmer (KONTAKT)

• Authentic Traditional Khmer Gong Chime: Faithfully captures the warm fundamental tone, resonant body, and rich metallic ring of the classical Kong Vong Thom (គងវង់ធំ).
• Acoustic Master Recording: Recorded and engineered by Chhit Tengrith (TengPleng) with clean, natural acoustic sustain.
• Ultra-Lightweight Engine: Extremely efficient 1.88 MB RAM footprint for instant loading and minimal resource usage in heavy projects.
• Extended Playable Range (C1 – F5): Over 4 full octaves mapped across the keyboard for traditional Pinpeat melodies and modern cinematic compositions.
• Dynamic Velocity Response: Sensitive velocity scaling providing soft, mellow gong strikes at low velocities and powerful, cutting resonances at high velocities.

The Melodic Heart of the Cambodian Pinpeat Ensemble
The Kong Vong Thom (គងវង់ធំ — "Large Gong Circle") is the foundational melodic gong instrument in classical Cambodian music. Comprising a semicircular/circular rattan frame holding suspended, tuned embossed bronze gongs, the Kong Vong Thom traditionally carries the principal melodic line in the sacred Pinpeat (ពិណពាទ្យ) orchestra, accompanying royal court dances, shadow theater (Lkhon Khol), and religious ceremonies.

Recorded and created by Chhit Tengrith under the TengPleng project, this virtual instrument brings the authentic resonance and cultural heritage of Cambodian gongs directly into any modern Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).

Organic Textures for Modern Production
Whether arranging classical Khmer music, scoring historical and epic Asian cinematic soundtracks, or adding warm, tuned metallic textures to modern lo-fi, ambient, pop, or hip-hop tracks, Kong Vong Thom Khmer offers an authentic and expressive acoustic sound.
