The Soulful, Meditative Sound of Traditional China
Ample China Dongxiao (ACDX) brings the evocative, breathy, and deeply expressive timbre of the ancient Chinese bamboo longitudinal flute into modern DAWs. Designed on Ample Sound’s advanced Woodwind Sample Engine, ACDX bridges ancient Eastern musical heritage with state-of-the-art virtual instrument modeling.

To achieve maximum dynamic range and natural variation, the library incorporates 5 velocity layers per note along with dedicated head (attack/grace notes), body (sustain/vibrato), and special effect articulation banks.

Authentic Expressive Performance Engine
ACDX goes beyond static playback by integrating physical and algorithmic performance tools. With the adjustable Wind Engine, composers can dial in breathy textures for intimate cinematic solos or dial back air noise for pristine melodic lines. The intelligent legato engine analyzes note speed and velocity to trigger natural transitions, slides, and ornamentation automatically.

Articulation System (3 Keyswitch Groups):

• Head Group (Blue Keyswitches): Triggers authentic ornamental grace notes, trills, and biting attacks at the beginning of notes.
• Body Group (Yellow Keyswitches): Controls the core sustaining character, including Sustain, Expression swells, Slow-Fast Vibrato, Fast-Slow Vibrato, Marking, and Laying notes.
• Special Effects & Licks Group (Red Keyswitches): Access overblown harmonics, breath hits, key clicks, flutter tonguing, and tempo-syncable improvised traditional phrases.

Built-In Studio FX Suite:

• 8-Band High-Order Parametric EQ: Visual real-time input/output spectrum analyzer with individual band soloing.
• 2-Line RMS / Peak Compressor: Soft-knee dynamic control with auto-makeup gain.
• 6-Tap Stereo Echo: Individual delay time, feedback, and pan routing per tap.
• Convolution IR Reverb: 4 realistic impulse response spaces (Room, Studio, Hall, Large Hall) with 3D spectral visualization.
