The definitive semi-modular environment for creating complex, shifting audio textures and otherworldly soundscapes. Absynth 6 blends unconventional synthesis techniques with precision multi-stage envelopes, custom waveform morphing, and an intuitive modulation engine tailored for film composers, game audio designers, and electronic producers.
Hybrid Multi-Synthesis Engine: Combine Granular re-sampling, 8-operator FM, Wavetable synthesis, and classic Subtractive analog topologies across three discrete oscillator channels.
Three Independent Oscillator Channels: Route each channel through dedicated filters, waveshapers, ring modulators, and frequency shifters before summing into the Global master strip.
Integrated Surround & Spatial Sound: Advanced surround-panning matrix for movement across stereo and multi-channel configurations.
Creative Resonators & Spatial FX: Bespoke Pipe resonators, Comb filters, Echo modules, and multi-tap spatial delays built directly into the signal path.
Expanded Hardware Control: Full integration with MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression), Polyphonic Aftertouch, Mod Wheel, and Macro modulation matrices.
Major Engine & Interface Additions (10/12/2026):
Focus Mode & Channel Navigation:
Focus Mode: Click any channel header to isolate that channel and open an expanded editor directly below the signal path.
Sidebar Switcher: Select between Waveform, Envelope, LFO, Macro, and Keyboard editors within Focus Mode.
Editor Lock: Locks the current editor view to prevent unwanted context switching when clicking channel strip elements.
Patch Focus: Instantly jumps from an editor element directly to its assigned routing destination within the "Used", "Envelope", "Macro", and "Expression" lists.
Global Channel Integration: Dedicated Global Channel header to inspect master FX and global parameters in Focus Mode.
Universal Sub-Preset Management:
Replaced legacy template files with modular Subpresets across Channels, Source Modules, Insert Modules, FX, Waveforms, and Envelopes.
Subpreset Browser: Features factory and user categories, live text search, favorites, folder structures, database rescan, and "Show on Desktop" shortcuts.
Audition Mode: Audition subpresets on selection with one-click Cancel to revert back to previous settings.
Visual Previews: Added real-time graphical thumbnail previews for Waveform and Envelope subpresets.
Dedicated "Load Subpreset" and "Save Subpreset" options integrated into the Edit and Transform menus.
Expanded Footer, Keyboard & Expression Controls:
Permanent Footer strip displaying Macros and an On-Screen Keyboard across all pages (docked into Macro/Keyboard editors in Focus Mode).
Dedicated footer controls for Pitch Bend, Mod Wheel, Hold, Mono Aftertouch, and Polyphonic Aftertouch.
Keyboard Editor: Displays note scales directly above the keybed with real-time numeric value readouts during curve drawing.
Modulation, Assign Engine & MPE Enhancements:
Assign Engine: Added a dedicated Assign button with Single and Multi-target assignment modes, accompanied by a full target menu.
Status indicators highlight Available, Assigned, and Unavailable modulation parameters; clicking an assigned control rebinds it to the active source.
Added visual MPE Indicators on macro knobs and next to their entries in the modulation assignment list.
Target Focus in LFO Editor: Displays the precise module destinations where an LFO is routed.
Visual status indicators in Envelope lists show active/inactive module states and envelope bypass.
Added a Follow / Trigger operational switch for audio-rate modulators.
Workflow Improvements & Polishing:
Drag-and-drop Macro reordering with full multi-level Undo/Redo support.
Rename Macros directly by double-clicking their label in the bottom footer.
Hovering over macro controls displays current parameter values; unassigned macros are visually muted.
Multi-selection support in Assignment lists for batch deletion and re-routing assignments to alternate macros while retaining Depth, Invert, and Smooth values.
Merged the Wave and Envelope Edit/Transform menus into a unified Transform menu.
Moved "Copy Channel" and "Paste Channel" functions into the primary Channel Edit menu.
Legacy Absynth template files can now be imported directly as modern Subpresets.
Standardized terminology: "Main Channel" is now Global Channel, "Macro Control X" is now Macro X, and "Templates" are Subpresets.
Source Modules (Oscillators & Granular Beds):
Waveform Synthesis: Standard geometric waves, fractal wavetables, and user-drawn harmonic additive profiles.
Granular Engine: Real-time grain slicing of audio samples with random pitch scattering, variable grain size, and position scrubbing.
FM & Ring Mod: Polyphonic frequency modulation networks with selectable modulator waveforms and feedback circuits.
Insert Processing Modules:
Multi-mode filters (Low-Pass, High-Pass, Band-Pass, Notch) with variable drive and resonance models.
Waveshapers and Wavefolders for introducing aggressive upper-register harmonics.
Specialized Frequency Shifters and Ring Modulators for inharmonic, metallic, and robotic textures.
Master Global Module & Effects Block:
Resonator banks (including modeled physical pipes and strings) for metallic resonances.
Multi-tap tempo-synced delay units with individual feedback paths and low-pass filtering.
Notice: The AAX component in this release is not yet cracked/signed; it will not load in Avid Pro Tools.
Step-by-Step Installation:
System Preparation:
Close all active DAWs, hosts, and background Native Instruments services.
Core Setup:
Run the main installer (Absynth 6 Setup PC.exe) as Administrator.
Complete the installation routine for the Standalone application and VST3 plugin binaries.
Apply Bob Dule Patcher:
Run Absynth 6.2.0 Patcher by Bob Dule.exe as Administrator (Right-click -> Run as administrator).
If prompted with a dialog requesting to replace or update the NativeAccess.xml configuration file:
Click Yes if you have older Native Instruments software environments installed prior to 12/10/2026. This registers the product identity without interfering with existing installations.
Wait for the patch routine to report successful completion.
Verify Installation:
Launch Absynth 6 in Standalone mode first to confirm initialization.
Open your DAW, initiate a VST3 plugin rescan, and load Absynth 6 onto an instrument track.
Verify that Focus Mode, the subpreset browser, and macro mappings are fully accessible.
