Rather than relying on third-party samplers, EastWest built PLAY from the ground up to exclusively handle the massive data requirements and complex scripting of their Hollywood series and Quantum Leap libraries. Installation Steps:

1. Uninstall Previous Versions: If you have a legitimate or older version of PLAY installed, uninstall it completely. Clear any leftover folders in C:\ProgramData\East West.
2. Run the Setup: Execute Setup Play v6.1.9.exe as an Administrator.
3. Select Components: Choose your required formats (Standalone, VST, VST3, AAX) during the installation prompt. Ensure the VST2/VST3 paths match your DAW's standard scan directories.
4. Install Decrypted Libraries (Prerequisite): Ensure you have the associated cured (R2R) EastWest instrument libraries downloaded and extracted to your desired drive.
5. Library Configuration: Open PLAY in Standalone mode first. Navigate to the "Browser" tab, right-click in the library window, and select "Add Another Product Library" to link the folders where your sample libraries are stored.
6. Rescan in DAW: Open your DAW and rescan your plugin directory.

FAQ / Troubleshooting:

• Q: PLAY asks for an iLok authorization upon loading a library!

• A: You are trying to load an untouched/legitimate EastWest library. This cured version of PLAY only reads libraries that have been specifically decrypted (usually tagged as R2R releases).

• Q: The plugin shows up in my DAW, but the browser is completely empty.

• A: You must manually point the PLAY engine to your library folders. Use the "Add Another Product Library" function in the Browser tab.

• Q: Audio is crackling/dropping out during heavy passages.

• A: Ensure your sample rate and buffer size are optimized in your DAW. More importantly, verify your sample libraries are located on an SSD, and increase the "Engine Level" setting inside PLAY's main settings menu to allow more RAM usage.

R2R Build Advantages:

The iLok driver is not required to work.

Has better performance than the legitimate version.

To run this release, you need to have at least one library installed.

The legitimate library does not work with this release.

You cannot install the R2R version and the legal version on the same computer.
